2008 Timeline

The Young Designer Furniture Award competition for 2008 is now well under way.

Initial judging of all 70 entries from both RMIT and UTS students took place at The Atrium in Melbourne's Federation Square on 20 June 2008. 13 students' designs were short-listed and selected to have their pieces come to life and exhibited at the final judging in November 2008 and then at the official product launch in March 2009.

Following the product launch and exhibition, the winning design will be sold under the Smith brand and available at Harvey Norman stores across Australia from March 2009.
